O God,
we give glory to you all day long and constantly praise your name. You bless those who put their trust in
you. We lift you up because you are our
hope and confidence. With you as our
Lord we are like trees whose roots reach deep.
Lord, remind us we are merely moving shadows, and all our busy rushing
ends in nothing. We heap up wealth, not knowing who will spend it. And so,
Lord, where do we put our hope? Our only hope is in you; our humble and gentle
Lord who gives us rest for our souls.
